ABC Endorses Physicians Care’s Shared-Funding Plan
Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) has endorsed the Physicians Care Health Plans’ shared-funding plan for its member groups. Physicians Care is offering a special packaged version of its shared-funding product to ABC members that includes key additional administration services. When ABC members purchase our shared-funding plan, they have access to large-case management services and the choice of either a disease-management program or a wellness Website AT NO ADDITIONAL COST.
Shared-funding is a form of self-funding that functions very similarly to an insured policy where the employer pays a monthly payment. Unlike an insured policy, however, the employer retains any unspent claims funds. Shared-funding gives enrolled employees and sponsoring employers the opportunity to enjoy the savings of wise health care choices and healthy living.
Large-case management improves the quality of care and controls costs during inpatient stays through appropriate discharge planning. Disease management is a positive, proactive approach designed to lower the cost of care for chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure or hypertension and to minimize the complications associated with these conditions.
