ASR Health Benefits is a rapidly growing third-party administrator of health plans, including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, Section 125 and consumer-directed health plans.  We administer these health plans through dedicated client service teams, consisting of staff members from each department at ASR who work together to meet our clients’ needs.

ASR is currently seeking a Software Developer to join our Information Technology Department. We offer a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development. Summary:

The Development team is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering secure, reliable, and user-friendly internal and external software applications that meet a variety of business needs. As a member of this team, the Developer will play a dynamic role in various projects, which may vary in scope and size. Developers are often assigned to multiple projects simultaneously and may be asked to troubleshoot, resolve issues, or extend existing software solutions. Close collaboration with stakeholders and fellow team members is essential. Developers are expected to maintain professionalism, take pride in their work, and manage their time effectively.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, understand, and address issues in software applications, providing solutions to resolve reported problems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing applications or develop new solutions that better meet the needs of the business and clients.
  • Contribute to application development projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions to share insights and contribute to team objectives.
  • Mentor others by providing guidance and support to foster growth within the team.

  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented development, particularly with C# (VB.NET knowledge is a plus).
  • Proficiency in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Familiarity with the MVC architecture pattern, web services, and web APIs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; OR a minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, or equivalent technologies.
  • At least 3 years of experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with SQL Server.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Visual Studio or similar Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).
