ASR Health Benefits is a rapidly growing third-party administrator of health plans, including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, Section 125, and consumer-directed health plans. We administer these health plans through dedicated client service teams, consisting of staff members from each department at ASR who work together to meet our clients’ needs.
ASR is currently seeking a Data Entry Specialist to join our Operations Support Department. ASR offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development. This position is located on-site, Monday- Friday.
Job Summary:
The Data Entry Specialist is essential to supporting our claims processing system by accurately keying in claims, balancing prescription data, and ensuring timely and precise completion of daily tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claim Entry: Key all coordination of benefit claims and handle claims returned by external vendors.
- Re-pricing Claims: Re-price claims using appropriate network discounts as needed.
- Claims Processing: Key pre-dental, vision, and prescription claims into the system.
- Data Balancing: Balance prescription data to ensure proper loading into the system.
- Batch Preparation: Sort and organize claims by analyst, preparing them into batches for processing.
- Batch Auditing: Audit batches for accuracy before delivering them to the file room for final processing.
- Document Management: Once claims are processed, scan, rename, and save them into the system under the correct Network folder.
- EDI Claims Management: Route Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) claims to the correct claims processing system mailboxes.
- Mail Sorting and Backup: Provide backup support for opening and sorting incoming mail.
- Vendor Report Printing: Assist with printing vendor returned reports from daily batching processes.
- Fax Routing: Sort and route incoming faxes to the appropriate departments.

- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and claim processing.
- Time Management & Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication with team members and other departments.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a team and provide support when needed.
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
- Keystroke Speed: Demonstrated ability to achieve 12,000 keystrokes per hour using 10-key.
- Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions and tasks.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous data entry or claims processing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
